As of September 23rd, at 11:00am (CST), the National Hurricane Center is tracking Invest 97L which currently has an 80% chance of further development over the next few days. This system is expected to become a CAT 1 hurricane by 8:00am Wednesday and continue to strengthen as it travels over the warm gulf waters. While right now the intensity and exact tract varies between the different models, most have it making landfall between the Florida Panhandle and the west coast of Florida as a major hurricane, as early as Thursday, September 26th. Either way, our area is expected to see increased winds and storm conditions later this week.
As an owner or rental management company, you should have a plan in place to properly secure your unit: 1) bring in balcony furniture, plants, and other loose items, 2) lock and secure balcony doors, 3) have an evacuation plan in place for you or your guests, 4) keep yourself informed of the ever-changing weather conditions per the Weather Channel, National Hurricane Center, or local PCB news/weather.
